Coombe Abbey Hotel is a beautiful place in Warwickshire which offers so many experiences, including stays for families and couples. Food was fabulous- both sweet and savoury. Perfect for a stunning afternoon tea or an overnight stay! However, the staff especially Harry were very attentive and helpful. Parking was a little confusing as we were looking for disabled spaces near to the hotel. The cakes are... delicious and the venue is lovely. Self serve continental with fresh fruit salad, cereal etc and a full English breakfast that was also self serve.If you want to celebrate a special occasion, then I fully recommend Coombe Abbey. A huge four poster bed and an amazing bathroom which is up a small flight of stairs which has a roll top bath.Our evening meal was perfect and so tasty. In saying that the food was lovely.Check out is 10.30, so breakfast is very busy. Its a period building but is so dark (in keeping with the theme). The deluxe suites are fit for a king or a queen, which I felt like on my recent stay! Not only is afternoon tea an exciting experience for kids that will keep them entertained, but Coombe Abbey and its grounds have loads of things for families to do. A short walk led to the hotel and looking a little lost a member of staff pointed out the toilets and afterwards another member of staff directed us to where we could look round the ground floor and then the way to the gardens which given the beautiful weather made for a pleasant stroll with adequate provision for sitting and resting by the lake. The Abbot’s tea is a more traditional affair, whilst the Knight’s tea comes complete with half a pint of ale! We will be back, but maybe in 2021 and not sooner. I really enjoyed the evening. Excellent traditional afternoon tea at Coombe Abbey was made even more special by watching a pair of Kingfishers flying to and fro along the moat for 20 minutes as we crossed the bridge to leave the hotel - within a few feet of some of the bedroom windows - (spotted by a 10 year old in our party). Majestic 13th century abbey turned hotel in Coventry England. Reviews centred around the relaxed atmosphere, friendly service and fine dining, including the popular afternoon tea service, as well as the unique decor of each bedroom and passage way and the picturesque views of surrounding countryside.
